If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.

One of my all-time favorite artists is James Turrell. His medium is light, and oh, the things he can do with it. Earlier this year I went to LA to see a retrospective of his work. It was magical, mystical and an experience not to be rushed. Being immersed in colored light for long periods definitely changes one’s perception, and Turrell’s environments challenge the eye and the person in unconventional ways.
My favorite installation was the Ganzfeld, a large room at the top of a steep staircase. The space had curved side walls and a slightly sloping floor that led to an open far wall. I felt as if I were stepping into an atmosphere of pink fog, completely enveloped in subtly-changing color. I could have stayed all day, such was the tranquility created in that space.
The energy of light is certainly mysterious. Thank you for your curiosity, Mr. Turrell.
One of my dreams is to sit in the center of a crop circle some day, to experience firsthand the beauty and the energy of these amazing phenomena. From what I understand, the “weaving” of the crops is often very intricate and complex as are the patterns and designs of the formations themselves. I’ve been told that these sites also emanate a palpable vibration. I should very much like to “feel for myself.”
